Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 3, 2026 · Applies to the Android app “Parchis Online” (package com.parchispuro.app)
Parchis Online is built to collect as little as technically possible. This page describes exactly what data exists, why, and what happens to it. There are no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no trackers of any kind in the app.
Offline play
Games against the computer and pass-and-play games on one device are processed entirely on your device. No gameplay data leaves it. Your settings (theme, language, sound, haptics) are stored locally on your device only.
Online play
When you choose to play online, the following data is processed so that a match can work at all:
- An anonymous player identifier. The app signs you in anonymously using Firebase Authentication. No name, e-mail address, phone number or password is ever requested. This identifier is a random ID that is not linked to your identity.
- Game data. The moves, dice rolls and state of your online matches are stored on the game server (Google Cloud Firestore) so that all players see the same board and can rejoin after a disconnection.
- Presence heartbeats. While in a match, the app periodically writes a timestamp so opponents can see whether you are still connected.
- Technical data processed by Google. Our backend runs on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions). Google temporarily processes IP addresses and user-agent strings as part of operating this infrastructure and preventing abuse. We do not receive, store or use this information ourselves. See Firebase Privacy and Security.
What we do NOT do
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics, profiling or behavioral tracking.
- No selling of data — to anyone, ever.
- No sharing of data with third parties. Google acts solely as our service provider (data processor) to run the game backend.
- No access to contacts, location, camera, microphone, storage or any other device capability. The app's only permission is internet access.
Data retention and deletion
Your anonymous identity exists only on your device and on Firebase. Uninstalling the app permanently severs the link between you and that identity — nothing that remains can identify you. Finished match records may be retained on the server for operational purposes and contain only the anonymous ID and game moves.
You can request deletion of the data associated with your anonymous identity at any time — see the data deletion page for the exact steps.
Children
Parchis Online is a family-friendly board game rated for everyone, but it is not specifically directed at children. Online play contains no chat and no free-form content exchange between players.
Security
All traffic between the app and the server is encrypted in transit (TLS). Game state can only be changed by the server itself; players' devices have read-only access to their own matches. Dice are generated server-side with a cryptographically secure random number generator — this is a fairness feature, and it also means no gameplay decision is ever made on the basis of who you are.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app's update notes.
